The base miles earned per stay definitely count as LP's. So when you are filtering through the search results and see "Earn 2,700 miles per stay" those 2,700 miles will also count as LP's.

But the "Earn even more miles" offer on the checkout page does not count as LP's. This is where you can spend extra to earn even more on top of the 2,700 miles.
