There are probably a lot of ways to earn 16k LP significantly cheaper than $1500 if you look through this thread (and the shopping and AA Hotels threads).
Maybe I'm just not figuring this out but how are people booking hotels and not staying and still getting LPs? I'd be happy to spend a few hundred bucks to get the Loyalty Points versus the buy up but I'm lost.
Also, does anyone know if they extend the buy up past the end of February? I'd love to see where I finish before I decide if I want to do the buy up. I'd also like to see if my offer improves as it did when my last CC statement posted.
