Morning Everyone,

I did try and search this topic, but didn't find anything recent, and as processes change over the years, thought i would re-ask this.

I've got a flight from ZRH to NRT planned for early July 2024 for myself and the family (3 adults, 1 child). I managed to get the return leg as a flight award but no such luck on the leg out.
It's currently Eco as prices weren't very reasonable. I see there's already an option to place a bid upgrade in the booking, which i'll more than likely do.

But from experience, when's the best time to do this? Now, or a towards the summer?
Also last question, as I've not bid before and i see there's a range, what should i put in? for the best chance of getting a seat.
