When I flew back from OPO via IST and KUL to MEL on TK, the KUL-MEL leg was on MH (booked as a TK codeshare). Despite calling both TK and MH, I never did extract a PNR and ended up having to get allocated a seat down the back of the bus at the KUL transfer desk. The only saving grace was that at least it was not JQ which was the other option presented.
Also worth noting, if you're planning on booking points to a program other than M&S, you won't be able to book them as OW relies on marketing carrier (TK, so *A), while *A relies on operating carrier (MH, so OW).

TK should be able to provide the confirmation number (PNR) for the MH reservation system. However chances are slim to make a seat reservation when the flight is under TK flight number. It's a common problem with codeshares. Had the same issue with a Thai Airways flight under TK flight number. It was not possible to reserve/confirm a seat in the biz cabin.
I was able to select seats (and find the TG PNR for my TK booking) on my TG codeshare from MEL-BKK going over by plugging the ticket number (as opposed to PNR) into the TG app (along with my surname).
