I've just booked a business class itinerary on the TK website from Australia to Europe. Two of the sectors are flying with their codeshare partner Malaysia Airlines. I've been able to choose my seats for the TK metal sectors but not the MH. TK office says they can't help because they can't do it from their system. MH staff says they can't see it because it is under a TK reference and that I have to wait til the actual day of the flight and speak to the airport staff. That seems nuts for a business class ticket. Does anyone know whether it is TK or MH who should be able to enter my seat choices for the MH sectors of the booking? Or provide any other advice on how I might be able to get it done?
TK should be able to provide the confirmation number (PNR) for the MH reservation system. However chances are slim to make a seat reservation when the flight is under TK flight number. It's a common problem with codeshares. Had the same issue with a Thai Airways flight under TK flight number. It was not possible to reserve/confirm a seat in the biz cabin.
