Although March is still the wet season and there is a higher chance of rain, I like that there are fewer tourists during this time in Bali. Clouds don't bother me so much in Bali, and make for stunning sunsets.
Amankila is very peaceful, and the infinity pool suite, in particular, is a dream. I stayed in that suite 2 summers ago (image below)...
Whereas March in Amanpuri, albeit hot, is still dry season and you'd enjoy a stunning beach with crystal blue waters and top tier F&B... it may be a little more crowded than usual as I've heard Phuket this year has been very crowded overall.
Maybe consider the experience you're looking for as well.
If you're into being pampered with spa treatments, great F&B, cocktails, a super idyllic beach (the best beach in Phuket in my view), I'd choose Puri over Kila.
If you're into a super peaceful, effortless holiday & want to leave the resort and do more cultural or active activities like biking across villages in or visiting temples, I'd choose kila over puri.
First - thanks for all the YT videos on Kila and Puri, and second, thank you for the above!
I actually was at the FS Koh Samui in Jan, and felt like it was an amazing time relaxing and enjoying the property. Immediately wanted to go back after a short overnight in Phuket after.
I have Kila planned and was about to book it, when I decided to look at Puri as well. They only have the Pool Pavilion for the days that I am traveling, so no partial ocean for me.
Looking for a great gym and spa treatments//facilities - and dont mind the dry heat. I think based on what my gut is telling me, the current premium of Puri over Kila might be worth it.
Always appreciate a great beach club
