I have a very early arrival into AUH arriving at 5am, and then not leaving until 3am the next morning for Vienna. I’m flying J on a value ticket.

I’m thinking about a number of different ways to approach the 22 hours I have in Abu Dhabi, but I was wondering if it was possible to head from the flight to transit into the terminal, go to the lounge for breakfast and then go back through immigration to then go and spend some time in the city doing some sightseeing. This is possible at some airports in other countries, but I’m not sure about the UAE.

I know there is the chauffeur lounge, but I don’t think I’m eligible to use that, as my ticket doesn’t have chauffeur included. Am I still able to use that lounge if I don’t?

I have an alternative plan regardless, but could you fill in these gaps in my knowledge that would be very helpful to aid my planning.

Thanks all.

Hi there. Our premium lounge is available to you during your transit in Abu Dhabi, and you can stay as long as you like until your flight takes off. If you are eligible for a visa on arrival, you can also exit the airport. More information can be found on our website: https://www.etihad.com/en-ae/fly-etihad/visas . If you have cleared immigration, you can enter the airport again when check-in opens for your flight.

For our arrival lounge, even if you don't have a chauffeur booking, you're welcome to use the lounge if your inbound ticket is business class and operated by EY; however, there are no hot meals served in this lounge, just light snacks and refreshments. Thanks. *Ann
