It's the lack of notification that irritates me more than losing the seats. Though the seats thing is a jerk move. Even if DL does it too. "Choosing EMS seats at no cost" is the perk that requires status. Once they're booked, they're just seats. Also, there's no way to pay for those seats when booking with status. When you select them, it just says $0.00
Delta literally does the same thing, in the same way and sends no notifications period. You simply meet yourself with no assigned seats. Hell it can even happen on a normal schedule change Saturday; it's why everyone here checks their reservations continuously.
