Speaking for Sheraton Kuwait, the property has already been splintered into a St. Regis, which took over the original building and its extension following a gut renovation of the rooms in both buildings. The lobby is undergoing renovation at the moment and future phases will transform the F&B and meeting venues, as well as the pool. The LC-branded Sheraton has now retreated into the 1970s tower extension of the original property, and will eventually close for a total gutting that will see the exterior reclad, rooms reconfigured, a dedicated new entrance added and other modifications [last I heard, they wanted to put a new gym and pool on the rooftop] in line with the new brand standards before the hotel rebrands as either Sheraton Kuwait or Sheraton Grand Kuwait, and under the Sheraton brand.
I remember
there was a plan a few years ago to renovate and rebrand Sheraton Addis into a Marriott, but I'm not sure if they're happening anymore or simply stalled. That leaves us with Bangkok's Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, which is a solid contender for either a Sheraton Grand designation with a little renovation or ditching the Sheraton name to stay as part of the Luxury Collection... those are my guesses anyway.
