You may be correct. The only thing that I would say however is that on the same date I picked (24 June), Doha - Sydney was 70k Avios - which is off peak price. Wouldn't this factor into it too? I understand that peak/off-peak may be route dependent, but I can't see any evidence of this in other examples I looked at.
