Qatar Avios Devaluation

Hi All,

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, however, there has been a devaluation in QR Avios, and there may be more coming - all this without any notice whatsoever from QR.

Usually, from Western/Central Europe to either Melbourne or Sydney, it used to be 90k Avios (saver rate). Now this has gone up to 108k Avios (20% increase).

When I looked into it more, the increase has happened on the Europe-Doha side; i.e. Doha-Mel/Syd is still 70k saver rate. So this may mean further devaluation, which really sucks. When you look at flights from Europe to Doha in business class, they've gone up from 45k Avios to 54k Avios, representing a 20% increase, which is pretty significant.

If more devaluations occur, I'm sure many people will move away from QR Avios. They have already moved to putting in 'peak' and 'off-peak', decreased the number of award seats available significantly and now have begun devaluating their Avios significantly.
