Would assume that AAdv award availability is now driven by bid price/bid price increment as opposed to segment limits. When flights first come into the schedule, they're on default bid pricing.
"Brand new" (i.e. at RRD 331) flights are generally not going to be your best bet to find any lower fare inventory.
I don't know how AA YM currently accounts for T/U availability in a world of dynamic award pricing but since bid price YM already requires hitting up against a fare table, it wouldn't be difficult at all to have dynamically priced awards included in the fare table.
But, again, looking for a "cheap" fare (whether in cash or miles) is unlikely to be a productive exercise 330 days from departure.
