I found in the past that adding KTN to the reservation with SK was either impossible or, even if possible, not useful. Always added it at OLCI time (which also had only about 50% chance of success), and then, if that did not work - at airport check in counter (that works every time).

And yes, TSA Pre KTN numbers are a combination of letters and digits, unlike GE which are fully numeric.
