Had a 2 night mid week stay here to burn an expiring FNC and used points for the second night.
Several nights preceeding ours including the previous weekend had been showing as completely sold out and when we arrived we did see that a business event had just ended; the signage was still up at all of the conference rooms and in the lobbies surrounding them. So it seems that this hotel is picking up business at a steady pace from the get go.
The 2 days we were there were pretty quiet. The staff we encountered were all super nice and friendly and any failures in service as they are still learning they ropes here, they always attempted to correct to the best of their ability.
When I checked in via the app I initially selected a room on the 7th floor. I was only given the option to choose from the standard base rooms (Nature view) with a message showing that when I check in they will try to upgrade me. At check in they didn't offer any upgrade so I politely asked if there was any lagoon view rooms available (which I knew there were based on what was showing for sale). After clicking around for a bit, I was assigned to a Deluxe Nature View room on the 4th floor which is identical to the base room with the only difference being the addition of a balcony. I'm not a pushy type and for such a short stay it was just fine so we were happy with the 1 category upgrade. We did enjoy the balcony but the "amazing nature view" we had was of a parking lot right in front of us with a small pond off to the far right.
The room was spacious and well appointed and I liked that the bathroom was nice and large too with 2 sinks. The balcony had nice ample seating which was very clean obviously due to still being very new and lightly used.
When I arrived and was unpacking I had a couple of small items that required refrigeration, but the in room drawer mini fridge had a sign in it saying that it was not functional yet which I hadn't been aware of. I messaged the hotel to ask if we can store a very small bag with them and they graciously responded that they will send someone to pick it up. A few minutes later they sent another message notifying me that they were actually sending a working mini fridge to my room, so that was really great because this way we had easy access to the refrigerated items.
At check in the $25 pp F&B credit for Diamond members was not mentioned so I inquired via chat and was told I would get a total of $50 for each night to be used at several of their food venues plus in room dining and it cannot be rolled over. I did in room dining both mornings, however, they billed the first morning to my second night stay and applied a $50 credit which caused an issue getting the credit applied for the second morning's order. I called the front desk who said they'd fix it, but when I checked out the full amount for that order was still on my bill. I had to re-explain the error and they were very nice about it and fixed it on the spot so that I got charged the correct amount.
The biggest and only service gaffe to me was that my room didn't get serviced at all after my first night's stay. I know there are many discussions pro and against daily room service, but I'm firmly in the camp of wanting daily service when I'm on vacation. I want to come back to a clean room with the beds made up and fresh towels and bottles of water put out. I left the room in the early afternoon and turned on the light to have the room made up which I had been told to do to indicate that I'm ready to have the room serviced. I returned quite late at night (almost 9 pm) to find my room in the exact state I'd left it with my room service items from the morning still on the table. I messaged FD that I was very frustrated by this and although they profusely apologized, at first they said housekeeping was gone for the day and they would send fresh towels and bottled water. But in the end, they somehow managed to have someone come in and do a quick cleaning of the room with turning down of the beds, although I noticed they hadn't vacuumed which wasn't such a big deal to me as long as the room looked presentable.
The grounds at the hotel are beautiful and I spent the second day exploring and walking around the lagoon. There is lots of seating all around which was mostly empty at this time, but I can see that when the hotel is going to be full they're going to need this much seating for that amount of people. There's a fun water slide at one end of the lagoon for kids which was operating fully with lifeguards on duty but unfortunately nobody around to use it so they all were quite bored. There were a couple of kayaks out on the lagoon though which is another fun activity you can do here.
Checked out the large and beautiful pool which was completely empty as the weather isn't warm enough for it, but would look forward to using it on a future stay should the weather be right.
Overall had a very nice stay and would recommend this hotel as well as come back here again myself.
