The trick is (I understand) to check in but don't print or download a boarding pass until you absolutely have to, that allows you to select anything that's available to you.

I actually prefer the old CW to Club Suites if I can get one of the seats which aren't climbed over or need you to climb, these are at the corners of the cabin. I wouldn't see a whole lot of point in spending the £100 on selection. Pity the flight is 28th March, as that'll limit the value of the TPs you'll earn given the earning year changes, but two business class flights will get you to 280TP which is just 20 shy of 300 which gives bronze and the ability to select seats for free well before it's opened up to non status passengers.

Thanks so much for this. That’s so helpful.

Sadly this is a reward flight so no tier points for me! Hoping my Amex BA card spend will get me some soon. I was silver a few couple of years back but work changes meant that I wasn’t travelling enough to maintain it and back down to blue.

Almost ever window pair is already booked so I think I might just suck up the spend as I don’t want to end up in a middle seat with a stranger!

Thanks again for your reply!

So, as previously said there are of course a fair number of 777 aircraft with different configurations and below you'll find discussion/different views on where's the best seats etc etc etc.

If you were to click show more at the bottom of the Wiki on the thread below you'll see the configuration types there too. Finally there are food threads too so you'll find info in the Club World thread and many others on the BA Forum Dashboard.
Thanks for the warm welcome and link! I shall have a look.

Thanks to everyone who replied! You’ve all been very helpful. Happy flying!
