Was this a recent change? I've seen people in this thread say they just skipped the line for the airline hotel reimbursement and booked their own hotel using the benefit.
After a month, I finally received my reimbursement for hotel, transportation, and meal expenses.
I think a major obstacle is getting the delay reason from the airline. I have talked to at least 4 different front desk people to get the written statements of delay reasons.
