ARCO has been taking credit cards here in California for at least the past 2 years. Prior to that I did once use credit at an airport location, they charged me a "$1 courtesy fee" to use the credit card. Considering I got 12+ gallons, and their price was much lower than the local competition, I found it to be worth it.
