I would agree with the prevailing winds here that both hotels rest on history rather than true luxury amenities.

That said, they are far less pricey than the true luxury hotels in NYC. The St. Regis is in the 400-500 range as are the Four Seasons and the Ritz's. I believe the Penninsula is as well.
