It rather depends on what you are looking for.

If it's an acknowledgement of the hardship your dad went through then you'll probably get that and a sort-of apology through your contact with customerservices.

If you are looking for compensation in terms of cash or avios then you are unlikely to be lucky. The airline tends to close down its correspondence after the initial exchange. If your QR-PC status indicates a degree of commercial importance then you might eventually get a handful of avios if you message them again and make it clear you are looking for compensation.
