Yes, I consider myself somewhat of an airplane geek, in that I’ve tracked all my flights since 2006 on Flightmemory, and can tell you that I’ve logged ~4 million miles on 103 different flag carriers over that period. (And that doesn’t count almost 20 years of international travel before 2006, where the records are lost to time.)
But aside from tracking my mileage balances on BA, SQ, UA and a few others, I really can’t be bothered to learn the intricacies and various hacks associated with Frequent Flyer programs. I do know that the PlusPoints came in very handy once I figured out how to use them last year, now that I have to pay for all my own company travel and international Business Class is usually not in the budget.
And the 1.95M lifetime miles that shows on my Mileage Plus profile must all be on UA metal, right? That’s how it worked when I crossed the 1M threshold years ago.
