I agree I shouldn’t have put laptop in checked luggage. I just had no use for it during the journey so thought it was ok to do so. The laptop is an old apple MacBook (over 10 years) so would fetch maybe $500 at the most, maybe less, but with the other content would easy add to $2k roughly as I had a lot of expensive gifts.


How do I claim my compensation from the airline? Plus I won’t have receipts for everything specially stuff that isn’t new. As mentioned I didn’t have travel insurance because it’s impossible to get one for that location and length of time (3 months).
