Ticket on hold - rebooking fare difference?

I hope this is a quick one. I have a ticket on hold and the value is c.€3,000. I've found an itinerary on BA.com that comes in at €2,900 and called the Gold line today to book.

Gave them the dates, flight numbers and fare classes and they come back with a price that's €1,000 higher. Does anyone know why this happens and if I can do anything about it? Seems strange that the price I'd pay online right now would be €2,900 but when I rebook through the Gold line the same itinerary would be €3,900?!?
