It definitely depends on how sensitive you are to sound/light. I have never had issues with smell because the FAs tidy up every hour or so. However, I do often notice galley noise while they are preparing the meals since the J meals really involve a lot of ceramic plates that tend to "clink". Really only bothersome on those redeyes where you're trying to maximize sleep.
