Whenever I book a room using points and want to SUA, my Concierge checks with the hotel because there is apparently a subset of suite inventory for points bookings. Having a standard suite available for cash, but not points, isn't guaranteed to be available with a SUA on top of an award stay.
That said, ignore the social media types and get on the phone to Nebraska during US business hours...
