I suspect you won't be using the Curve card any more. I just cut mine up and cancelled the account in protest at the dramatic drop in fee-free forex from GBP1000 to GBP250 a month. I also used it to earn Avios on my underlying Barclaycard and was happy to pay a subscription of GBP1.99 for quite a while for up to GBP2000 a month forex. I cancelled that subscription when it reverted to GBP4.99 a month (or 5% of the GBP1000-GBP2000 additional monthly spend while GBP1000 was still fee-free. The recent retooling of the Curve card makes it more an annoyance to keep it. Revolut Metal with its fee-free forex gets all my foreign spend now with the added benefit of 1% cash back (outside Europe) up to GBP14.99 a month which makes the Metal subscription free.
If Australia tries to charge me 2% to use this then I'll try the same argument as you.
