Technically not able to do B2B for CX982/983 pair, there is a minimum connection time of 5 hrs in CX system.
Unless you are able to request MAAS at HK airport where they informed the CAN ground crew to print you the boarding pass for CX983 and get someone in CAN transit area for you. If not its not doable.
