For Thailand, Bangkok is expensive and the Hilton is expensive. Singapore's cost of living is at least double Thailand's. Singapore is one of the most expensive cities in Asia. You can pretend anything is good value if you compare it to Singapore.
Also, the Hilton's pool is cold. It's great for guests to take selfies at, but not good as a pool. The Doubletree pool is much better for those who like to use a pool rather than just look at it.
