I had my first first experiences in November of last year. Flew LH from ORD to FRA, LX ZRH to ORD.

Service was good on LH. Free flowing bubbles, loads of caviar, liked that there were 2 bathrooms for 8 passengers. In FRA went to the first class terminal and really enjoyed the ride to our connecting flight on the tarmac.

LX service was friendlier, less full cabin. Free flowing bubbles, truffles in abundance during that time frame. I was gifted a bottle of cheaper bubbles and fancy chocolate airplanes in boxes for my birthday as we left the plane. Sadly our connection in ZRH was too short to properly visit the first class lounge beyond a quick drink.

I paid for both upgrades, probably won't be able to do that in future. Each airline had its plusses and minuses.

This was a special trip for myself and husband. We usually travel in business over the Atlantic, often using UA miles.

I enjoyed both tremendously.
