Tipped off by a tweet by
gleff (who in turns credits the Prince of Travel blog), I noticed new award charts live on TK's website that represent a significant devaluation and raise some questions. Gary claims that the pricing engine is still pricing at the old rates.
For example, an I class award from North America to Turkey goes from 45k to 65k in J, a 45% increase. And the new charts for travel on TK only show prices to/from Turkey--does that imply that prices for travel between two regions via IST will be additive, e.g., JFK-IST-TAS in I will cost 65k + 35k = 100k? The partner airlines award chart still shows prices from all regions to all regions. We've already seen attempts by TK agents to apply additive pricing when upgrading multi-segment itineraries.
