I'm almost scared to know what is in mine. I'm generally low maintenance but I did complain two years ago about an FDC in Hawaii who offered an unsolicited dinner comp after a mechanical issue, but later gaslighted and reneged. (I presumed her boss said: "You did what!", and it was her problem to undo). I would also not be surprised if I have a reputation for being a breakfast and dessert glutton.
This thread does remind me of conversations with both a Hyatt Front End Manager and a Marriott General Manager many years ago when I was in some hotel, but usually one of the same four hotels, every week. (When they decided I was safe and didn't blow up if all they had left was a bad room over the entry drive they became very transparent and made it up to me next time).
They really didn't know what to do with non-regular high status guests. They tried handing out the suites to the first elites who walked in, even if they had never visited them before, and being out of upgrades early. (Then the hotel regulars were frustrated). They tried pre-booking their own very regular guest elites into the suites and then they were out. (Then the super elites and courtesy card holders got mad and called corporate. They got told to hold back a few just in case that personal friend of the CEO with kryptonite status, or the franchise owner's sister -in-law, walked in at 9:30).
