I'm still reading thru, but also have noticed a few "peculiarlly" worded notes about my stays. Seems a lot of properties take offense at guests pointing out issues during their stay. As with the OP in most cases I simply made a comment on something that would have been appreciated, or a minor issue, etc and it reads like I was pulling a DYKWIA or being over-bearing.

Oh well, it was interesting and now I have a few properties that I may watch out for during future stays (or reconsider staying).
Aside from complainers fishing for comp, I'm sure there's a generational problem here. A huge percentage of people—Americans, anyway—under 35 or so simply don't know how to handle even the slightest bit of negative feedback. They treat it like a personal attack. In their online worlds, there's only a "like" button.
