Speaking from experience a couple of years ago with AC to Varadero. (Sorry Parnel-I caved for a cheap vacation) AC is allowed to overfly US airspace. Otherwise it would be a couple of hours longer cirlcling the southeast US. Not sure about Cubana but I will assume the same.
