Just completed a trip at the IC Los Angeles Downtown last week. We were a little bit on our guards as we read many negative reviews, here and on TripAdvisor, regarding hidden fees, lack of IHG loyalty recognition, bogus mini-bar fees, but in the end it turned out we experienced nothing of that — quite the opposite, our stay turned out to be one of the best we had in a hotel for the last months. Staff was very serviceable and went above and beyond to meet our needs. Food and drink in the Club lounge were great — and the view from there is amazing. We had issues with our rooms but they got fixed promptly, and they even waived the amenity fees for us — that was very thoughtful as we didn't even ask for compensation of any kind.

True, the elevator design is unusual. But anyway it's pretty common in high-rise buildings to pick a floor first and be assigned a shaft. And nobody would want a slow-moving elevators from the ground floor that connects to every floor with guest rooms. Funny they had a sign in the elevators, that if you got in and forgot to pick your floor, you should press the Assistance button to have Security help you out. All signs come with a background story, they say.
