Many thanks, T4 it is so I will give Iberia a try next time, though this week I will be flying in for the first time and landing at T2.
From what I've gathered the train is much faster than the metro, though as you mentioned it only leaves from T4 and will have limited coverage. Btw are taxis still capped at 30 Euro for getting to the city? My hotel is close to the Palos de la Frontera metro station so not sure if any surcharges would be added on top of any regular fee.
PdlF is inside the M30 ring road so taxi cost is still 30E though there was talk it be risen to 33E. Train is faster as it's a direct ride to Atocha, Vs metro which needs changing trains, problem is the train sometimes phantoms ie the scheduled next train is cancelled and you have to wait for the next next train, could be a 20min wait. Arriving in T2 you'd need to do the landside transfer bus to T4 first though. There is no cheap and fast solution.
