Thanks skier464, I have been trying to get business class tickets for the past 3 months to IPC. I had been trying SJD, CUN, and MEX sporactically but I had almost given up. Alot of phantom availability was showing up. Booked 2 round trip tickets.business class MEX-SCL-IPC in December this morning, very happy.
I think any itenary is going to cost more points going to IPC after March when the award chart changes with Alaska.
Yeah, I noticed last year how LA awards to IPC would only be available from MEX. I haven't found any from the USA...maybe it has something to do with married segments. Anyway, enjoy IPC!! I was there April 2023 for 4 nights and LOVED it. I went there thanks to a cheap $1000 LA J fare MEX-IPC with a stopover in SCL on the return. Fare came out right when the pandemic happened in 2020. Thankfully I kept the ticket instead of getting refund after all the flight cancellations...so happy i did!
Not sure if you know but the island requires visitors to be with local tour guides to visit the sites.Not sure if it has changed since April but I got the impression that requirement was going to be a permanent thing. PM me if you a have any questions.
