I haven't checked your maths on the Open Jaw distance, I will just asume you got it right.
For some ticket types there is a continental restriction on open jaws but AFAIK this doesn't apply to the Barclaycard rewards.
I would suggest not booking anything else associated with the trip until you have a confirmed and fully ticketed booking.
This is advice I am taking myself on the South America trip as the return is currently reserved and send to ticketing. I can see it in BAEC and even select seats, but as yet it is not actually ticketed so I am not booking non refundable hotels etc until it is.
