I have little opinion on the substance of these changes (and the BA "clarifications"). On the face of it, I would have thought that it was better for BA to have customers' collection year ends staggered through the calendar year, to avoid a sudden surge of requests for support (and to avoid the obvious problem of people who join mid-collection year). And of course in true BA style they try to position it as an improvement!!
I sort of feel that this is just the latest step (of many) in an overhaul of the Executive Club, likely also to include a change in its name, probably also moving to spend-based status, and that by the time they have finished in about 2027-8 BAEC (no longer so called!) will be unrecognisable to those who knew (and often loved) it a decade earlier.
