I've rarely rented a car in the UK and this American would greatly appreciate an explanation of the various rental car insurance options. I would want to be as fully covered as possible to avoid having any transatlantic issues to deal with after we complete our trip. In the US, the Loss Damage Waiver is commonly offered, but I'm not sure what the equivalents would be in the UK. I see terms like "Collision Damage Waiver," "Theft Protection," "Third Party Protection," "Limited Supplier Insurance," and "Damage and Theft Excess." I also don't know if my US State Farm policy or my AMEX or VISA cards provide any coverage in the UK. Thanks!
