I have switched to mostly using Holiday Inn Express which is equivalent to Fairfield or Hampton Inn. The quality is generally good and with the Chase credit card you get a lot of points. The 4th night free is a big benefit. I will price check the others and am happy to stay there if the price is right. For real value look for a new or recently remodeled LaQuinta. They are excellent and cheap. I guess LaQuinta has a poor reputation due to a lot of old and tired hotels out there, which keeps the price of the new ones down.
