Totally interchangeable.
Cleanliness has little to do with the brand and a lot to do with individual hotel ownership / management.
P.S. There's little reason to remain "loyal" to any brand in this space. Elite status will get you very little. Chase promo bonuses or use other criteria to choose on a case-by-case basis.
