Yes, indeed a shame! This was at the time when FB had its last major changes. It would have cost me a lot of money to fly AF or KLM business in order to keep the Plat status for two more years. In addition, it cost a lot of time having to fly through CDG and/or AMS for connections, especially since they had... stopped giving status miles for Transavia flights to/from HER, my home airport. This meant connecting in ATH first, adding more time to my trips.
So they "matched" your Aegean Gold/Star Gold to Flying Blue Gold?
Yes, they did: I had a chance to visit more weird (to say the least) lounges in the god-forsaken airports that I had to fly to, back then. My last long-haul flight with AF was CDG-OUA, followed by a 6-7 hours long road trip in a mini-van to Bobo-Dialasso.
