OP - can you confirm with Qatar that it was actually an IT glitch? In all of our cases, there was a record of the “flier” requesting the change at an airport - usually an outstation airport.
In any case, be prepared for quite the number of run arounds to get it sorted.
I’m sure they won’t confirm the “glitch”. But even when checking in for return flights I was “fighting” with the app as each time it kept assigning random FF numbers.
I will call customer support and see (and of course report back).
Ultimately, it’s not the end of the world if I don’t get the miles, but almost 20k miles is a decent amount. Luckily, I’ve already requalified for EXP this year.
