Yes, I find it very clunky to use. I preferred the old expedia model. I also have noticed the prices are inconsistent. Sometimes they are the same as airlines and sometimes more. It really puts a damper on the 1.5 Reserve ultimate reserve point value if you can't use this easily.
Just looking at a simple one way booking here now. Chase is pricing $442 and the airline is pricing $387. Ridiculous. Citi Thank You portal also shows $442, but Capital One travel is matching $387 airline price. As said, really makes the 1.5 cents per point worth much less if they just raise the prices on the actual flights.
