Qatar app made things interesting last week during my flights. Here’s the bullet points.
- Checked in using app and didn’t notice any issues. Got to YUL and my name was in a list as a “do not allow into National Bank Lounge List”. I was supposed to be allowed in as a OWE. Showed attendant my AA EXP card and entered.
- Lost my assigned and confirmed QSuite on both return segments.
- Realized that my outbound tickets had a virgin Australia FF number on the ticket (I am NOT a VA member!).
- This VA FF# is why I lost my return seat assignments (because I didn’t pay for my seat assignments, I was on a P business fare).
- Went to check in my return flights and I noticed a BA blue FF# on my ticket!
- Instantly realized that somehow the Qatar app was filling in FF#’s on my tickets. I tried manually changing to AA# but no avail. They were able to do this at the airport.
- Because of this random VA account number on my Qatar ticket (outbound) it did not get credited to my AA account.
i know that’s a long story… Anyone suggest how to get proper flight credits on AA?
You're going to need to call AAdvantage Customer Service and plead your case (800-882-8880, not the usual reservations number). For such a complex and weird situation I wouldn't even bother with the online missing miles request form.
