I do like the JR Yamanote lime ( green ) as you can see some of tokyo as you are above ground unlike the subways) although the subways can be useful ( ie from the Conrad to Shinjuku ( Tokyo Metro Govt building) I used the Oedo subway line at Shiodome ( below the conad) to Tochomae station which was very handy but a lot of odeo line stations are quite deep underground ( ie some stairs and or/escalators)
