14. AF would be my next guess but the lack of a Concorde makes me think it might be a different European carrier. How about the following...

LH 737-100 GVA-FRA
LH 747-200 FRA-JFK
AA DC-10 JFK-DFW-ABQ
1. That's a great guess! Delta was indeed operating a milk run from Houston Hobby to Chicago O'Hare during the early 1960's with this flight making six intermediate stops en route on a routing of HOU - BPT - SHV - HOT - LIT - MEM - STL - ORD. However, this service was operated with a "Super" Convair 440 recip and we are looking for an Electra operator here as Delta never operated the L-188. I remember seeing DL Convair 440 aircraft at Hobby Airport back when I was in high school.

And that engenders a BONUS quiz question:

Delta made history in May of 1960 at Houston Hobby Airport. What did they do?

ANSWERED: On May 15, 1960 Delta became the first airline worldwide to operate scheduled revenue service with the Convair 880 with the first flight operating nonstop from Houston Hobby to New York Idlewild.

BTW, Delta did briefly operate Fairchild Hiller FH-227C turboprops formerly flown by Northeast following the merger of the two air carriers. And Delta also operated another turboprop type at one point being the Lockheed L-100-20, the civilian version of the venerable C-130 Hercules. The L-100 was operated in scheduled services as a cargo freighter with the sched including a westbound transcontinental multi-stop flight from New York to California. Here are the Delta L-100-20 freighter schedules from 1969....

And here's a photo of a Delta L-100-20 at ATL....

14. Yet another great guess! And the first connection was indeed made in western Europe.

However, Lufthansa and American were not involved with this itinerary with connections not being made in Frankfurt or New York Kennedy. Plus the first flight was not operated with a 737-100 and the third flight was not operated with a DC-10-10. And the stop made by the third flight wasn't Dallas/Fort Worth.

But on the plus side of the column, you have correctly guessed the equipment operated on the second flight as it was indeed the 747-200.

And here's a hint....

As for the two other aircraft types we are looking for here, one was manufactured by Boeing and the other was built by another manufacturer.

Please guess again, sir!
