Hi,

I am trying to get gold status by booking a BA holiday + accomodation. However, I only want to do 5 nights hotel accomodation for part the trip, on a multi-leg trip flying LHR -> Boston -> NYC - > LHR, but I only want the 5 nights initial hotel stay in Boston, then no hotel in NYC. The entire trip is over 2 weeks.

From what I can read these would meet the rules for double points, however when I go to book a 'customised holiday' (via going to the BA website and selecting 'customise your trip') , on that mini website I dont get a message or any text about unlocking double tier points. It just talks about bonus avois and there is no 'red text' on the website indicating tier points or double tier points.

Via the main British Airways Holidays website ( I cant add a URL, but this is the one that says ' Taking your holidays seriously.'), which does show the 'double tier point' promotion when inserting the right trips, it doesnt seem possible to book a multi city trip, just a straight up fly in and fly out? So I can't use that website to setup my trip, as I cant add in the Boston to NYC leg.

What am I doing wrong? how should I book this trip?

Seperate question:
is there any way to book a Flight + Car booking to get double tier points if I dont drive/have a license? ie adding a friend who does drive/has a license as an additional driver with the car company and then having them pick up the car on a trip together - would this work?
