Two reservations using cash + points disappeared from my account today. I spoke with a reservation agent and gave them the confirmation number for both reservations. They could not find it. The good thing was that there was still record on my account being debited the points and eventually they were able to locate the reservation. The agent mentioned that the Bonvoy member number dropped off of the reservation. I'm not sure how this can happen as I booked online, used cash + points as well as requested 2 nightly upgrade awards (NUA) be applied. Glad it was fixed and hopefully it doesn't dropoff again.
Keeping checking your account up until the day before arrival.
I had the same one reservation disappear THREE separate times, before the check-in date.
And of course, keep your confirmation email with the confirmation number.
