I just took another tour through Europe (several countries) and then came to Maryland for work. I made a few posts in their respective threads about pros/cons but in terms of this thread:
Marriott Tirana Albania - nothing waiting in the room. When I left and came back they had delivered some chocolate balls over coffee beans. "Homemade" probably?!
Courtyard Belgrade Serbia - a very small dessert cake type thing and a box of the "Relax" stuff (hand cream, pillow spray and a candle). Also included a small bottle of Pelligrino (I don't drink carbonated beverages).
Courtyard Budapest Hungary - nothing waiting in the room. Five minutes after arrival they dropped off two small homemade cheese scones with a side of cottage cheese and a glass bottle of tap water.
Marriott College Park Maryland - a small bag at check-in which included a small water bottle and a king size bag of Skittles. Yep.
Getting a bottle of wine or something of substance (hey, it's not required so always nice when it happens) are so few & far between for me as an AMB.
