I think the ideal path forward is to give the FAs a reasonable raise, while also mandating service standards in the contract (and consequences for not meeting those standards).

AA should get something out of the negotiations too. Raises by themselves don't improve service. DL flight attendants are very well compensated right now, but are lazier than ever. The airline needs to be able to enforce the service standards, period.
